Street organ "De Grote Blauwe" has undergone a complete overhaul in the NBC works. After a long period of silence a major restoration was needed to get this organ, built in Rotterdam in 1930 by J. Minning, back on top form.
The organ became the property of the Haarlem Organ Museum in the first half of the 1970s. After many years of service the condition of the organ had deteriorated to a point that a restoration was in order. This was carried out by the NBC and turned out to be substantial as hidden water damage from the past had affected several important components of the organ. The restoration was made possible by financial support from "Nationaal Fonds Draaiorgelbehoud," amongst others.
In this restoration the organ retained the specifications and looks it got during its rebuild by the Perlee company around 1970. On Sunday the 20th of November 2011 the fully restored organ was unveiled in the museum in Haarlem.
